Project Description
The residential area off Culver and Bryan Street in Irvine, CA reinforced their city streets with FORTA-FI during an annual street rehabilitation. Over 34,900 tons of fiber reinforced asphalt concrete (FRAC) were used in a 2” overlay over dozens of residential streets. Typical distresses were found throughout the neighborhood like traverse and block cracking prior to paving. The City of Irvine chose FORTA-FI to delay reflective cracking and extend the life of the overlay. This was the first time Irvine used FORTA-FI on such a large project, and since then they have started more projects using FORTA-FI.
