Project Description
This fiber reinforced asphalt was produced using a unique “table-top” mixing operation. A windrow of aggregate is laid out, FORTA-FI® is distributed evenly along the windrow, and then oil is injected and mixed in place to create a cold mix. This resulting cold mix was stockpiled and later used as a 2” overlay at the intersections of Fillmore & Grapefruit, 62nd & Johnson, and Pierce & 66th in the hot desert area of Thermal, CA.
