Project Description
FORTA-FI® was used to reduce this roadways asphalt pavement section from 5” AC to 4” FRAC. The 4” FRAC was placed in two lifts, on 9” of AB that is reinforced with a Type 2 biaxial geogrid. The use of FORTA-FI® synthetic fiber reinforcement saved the project a significant amount of money (estimated $140,000 total savings in AC material alone) while also providing an extension of pavement life.
