Geneva Road – Orem, UT

Orem, UT - September 2012

Project Description

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) reinforced a slurry seal pavement application with Surface-EXT glass fiber for 10 miles of road. In total, 2,700 lb of the glass fibers were mixed
with 700 tons of dry materials and the fiber was evenly dispersed into the slurry mix. The user-friendly, fiber reinforced slurry seal material allowed for the roadway to reopen much earlier than anticipated while ensuring long-term durability and improving crack resistance. The fiber material required no changes to the normal mix and had good workability.
