Introducing fiber into the mix at the asphalt production facility is simple with FORTA-FI®.  In both batch and drum plants the dosage rate is 1 lb. of fiber per 1 ton of asphalt.  Individual bags of FORTA-FI® can be added manually at the top of the pugmill in batch systems or fed through the RAP collar in drum plants.  Portable mechanical delivery systems are available for use in larger projects, including an automated fiber-feeder option.  Adding the 3-dimensional reinforcement properties of FORTA-FI® is easy, and no modifications are needed to the production plant or at the paving site.  Give your asphalt projects the strength to resist both rutting and thermal, reflective, and fatigue cracking with FORTA-FI®!

After years in the concrete business, Joe Docheff and Bob Howard designed and developed The Big Shot® fiber transport system to quickly and safely move fiber from ground level storage to upper-level trucks and batching systems. This patented system is manufactured and distributed by FORTA Corporation. It provides a simple and relatively inexpensive way to add preweighed bags or even loose fiber to almost any concrete mixing system - all in less than 3 second! Requiring only PVC pipe, a few hangers and a supply of compressed air, The Big Shot® represents the best way to add fibers to any system and maximize safety profits.
